AT AUCTION-THE VINTAGE FASHION OF LEONA HELMSLEY

By Staff

In May Leslie Hindman Auctioneers of Chicago will be offering an estimated 250 lots of clothing and accessories from the estate of Leona Helmsley. In the upcoming sale are gowns “by Julia,” the personal, full-time seamstress of the late Helmsley. Other auction lots will include designs by Bill Blass, Christian Dior, Bob Mackey, and Yves Saint Laurent.

Leona Helmsley had more than 200 pairs of Ferragamo shoes, and varying shades of multiple Hermes bags.

Included at the auction in May will be the Chanel skirt suit Helmsley wore in 1992 to start her federal prison sentence.

Hindman estimates that the 250 Helmsley lots could sell for a total of $80,000 or more
